Who thought
of creating the ToolbarForMarines?
It was created by two friends who were preparing for their good
friends/boyfriends to deploy to Iraq. They were talking about
a way to get involved in something that would make the upcoming
deployment less stressful, and more interactive. One friend had
been through her boyfriend’s deployment, and the other friend
was getting ready to experience it for the first time, so they
put their heads together and came up with this idea. The toolbar
is designed to cater to both the deployed Marine, their loved
ones back home, and those who live the Marine Corps everyday.
You will find useful links to help with things like shipping packages,
understanding the Corps, gift ideas for your deployed marine,
blogs, community websites, shopping discounts, etc. Then we decided,
“Let’s donate money to the charities that support
the United States Marine Corps and its community!” On that
day, the ToolbarForMarines was born.

What percentage of the purchase
price is donated to charity?
The commissions that are generated by your purchases and search
engine activity vary from 0%-15% in some cases. That said, it
is somewhat difficult to answer that question. The easiest way
to answer this question is with a simple example, so here goes.
If you searched for and purchased a pair of Nike’s that
are worth $50.00, and the ToolbarforMarines receives a 5% commission
on that purchase, then our profit from that purchase would be
$2.50. We would then keep $1.25 so that we could continue operating
and growing our company, and then donate $1.25 to the charities
mentioned above. We hope that helps to answer your questions about
our donations. Please feel free to ask us any additional questions
at info@ToolbarforMarines.com.

What charities do you donate to?
At the moment, the organizations and companies that we proudly
donate to are; Toys for Tots, Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund, and
Support Our Troops. We are always on the look out for new charities
or groups that deserve to be included in the list of companies
that benefit from our revenue stream. Please feel free to suggest
a business or organization to info@ToolbarForMarines.

Can I nominate my charity to get
listed on your site or receive donations?
Of course you can. We are always looking for new places that our
donations can make a difference. Please make your suggestions
at info@ToolbarForMarines.

I want the proceeds from my purchase
to go to a specific charity. Can you do that?
Developing a system that was capable of tracking and managing
those types of figures would be extremely expensive to both develop
and maintain. This toolbar is designed to generate revenues that
benefit the United States Marine Corps and its community as a
group. Should you choose to donate to a specific charity, we recommend
visiting the following site: http://www.cafonline.org.

Are my purchases through the
tax deductible?
The IRS rule is that you can only claim a tax deduction when you
pay over and above the purchase price of an item. The prices are
exactly the same as you would pay without the ToolbarForMarines,
and in some case they are even lower, so no tax deduction can
be claimed.

I just visited a web site and made
a purchase, but I forgot to use the ToolbarForMarines menu. Will
a portion of my purchase still go to your charities?
The only way for our company to generate commissions for your
purchases is if you click on a link in the ToolbarForMarines menu
before making a purchase. Otherwise, we have no way to track the
sale, and therefore, we have no way to donate a portion of the
proceeds to charity. However, just remember to use our toolbar
to access your favorite stores next time, and all of your future
purchases will count.

Do I need to pay to use the ToolbarForMarines?
Our toolbar is 100% Free to use. We do not charge a fee to use
this toolbar. Imagine being able to benefit groups like Toys for
Tots, Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund, and Support Our Troops by
doing the same things that you would have done anyway, at no cost
to you! Sometimes, the sweetest things in life really are free.

Do I need to sign up or register
to download and use the ToolbarForMarines and shop for charity?

or register for anything. You simply download the toolbar at http://SupportMarines.OurToolbar.com
and you are all set. Anytime we make changes to the toolbar, or
add anything, your toolbar will automatically be updated, so there
is never a need to reinstall anything.

How does the ToolbarForMarines
work?
We have agreements in place with the vendors included on our toolbar
to pay the ToolbarForMarines a small commission whenever one of
your clicks results in a purchase. Additionally, revenue is generated
whenever you use the built in Google search box to search for
the things you look for everyday anyway. Our company retains roughly
half of the profits so that we are able to cover marketing expenses,
operating costs, and development of programs and relationships
that will further benefit Marines and their families. The other
half goes to several worthwhile organizations that are near and
dear to the United States Marine Corps community. At the moment,
the organizations and companies that we proudly donate to are;
Toys for Tots, Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund, and Support Our
Troops. We are always on the look out for new charities or groups
that deserve to be included in the list of companies that benefit
from our revenue stream. Please feel free to suggest a business
or organization to info@ToolbarForMarines.com.

Do I pay anything additional?
Are the prices the different?
There is no way that this program would work if your prices were
higher, so in most cases they are actually lower than you would
normally pay. You are shopping with the same vendors that you
normally would (for example: Amazon.com)
with the added bonus that 50% of the profits that we earn are
donated to our choice charities as listed above. We actually search
the internet everyday trying to find you the latest coupons and
promotional codes for things like 10% off, upgrades, or Free Shipping.
We do this to encourage you to use our site, and increase our
ability to donate to these organizations. You will almost always
find a better deal when you search our site first, or use our
toolbar for your shopping.

Do I need to visit ToolbarForMarines.com
every time I want to shop?
No, you never need to return to this site if you don’t want
to, but we hope you will. We try to offer a sense of community
by providing a place where people can come together for more than
just shopping. Once you download the toolbar, you will automatically
qualify the ToolBar For Marines for its commission programs every
time you access any of the sites by clicking on any link in the
toolbar.

Do I have to click on a link
in the toolbar button every time I want to shop?
Yes, this is important. If you don’t click on the links
in the ToolbarForMarines, then the purchase will not be tracked,
and we will not be able to donate a portion of the proceeds from
your purchase to charity. So please remember to start each purchase
through the ToolbarForMarines. Thank you.

I just bought something. How
do you know my sale tracked in your system?
We do not keep your personal information, so we can not track
down your personal purchase. However, we use trusted third-party
providers to track sales and have every confidence that your purchase
was counted.

Are you affiliated with any of
the radio stations that I can listen to with the ToolbarForMarines?
No. We are not affiliated with any of the radio stations that
are set as default players on the radio player, but they are included
because we find that most of the individuals who use our toolbar
regularly access these stations. Just as your iPod is not affiliated
with the music artists that it plays, we are not affiliated with
these radio stations.

Is shopping on your site secure? Is my
credit card card information safe?
This is a great question, and it is always important to be careful
with your credit card information. We never collect your credit
card or any other personal information. We only partner with high
quality, reputable merchants that you already shop with. You are
not shopping on our site, but rather on their sites, so you have
nothing to worry about. Your purchase is just as safe as if you
had gone straight to the vendor’s site by typing in (for
example) www.amazon.com.
