Clicking
on the Single Drop Down Arrow directly to the right of the
Marine Corps logo will display a drop down menu as pictured
below. There are several valuable tools on this menu.
Tell a Friend: You can click
on this link at any time to display a form that will help
you to tell a friend about the ToolBarForMarines. Simply
fill in the To and From fields and you’re done. Thanks.
Gadgets: This will ultimately
display a list of gadgets that you can add to your toolbar
to customize it further. There are things like Countdown
Clocks, Crossword Puzzles, and Calendars. Check them out.
Help: Instead of using this
tab, you can simply forward your help questions to info@toolbarformarines.com,
or visit the FAQs
page for answers to our most frequently asked questions.
Home Page: Clicking this link
will return you to www.toolbarformarines.com
About: This link simply displays
the version number of your toolbar. When you install your
toolbar, it is automatically set up to update itself, so
you probably will not really use this feature.
Contact: This is just another
way of contacting the support team. You may also send emails
to info@toolbarformarines.com.
Refresh Toolbar: Clicking
this link gives you the ability to refresh the content available
on your toolbar. However, your toolbar automatically updates
itself about every 15 minutes, so this is not something
that you will really use.
Clear Search History: This
link will clear your search history within the Google powered
search box on our toolbar.
Shrink Toolbar: Clicking this
link will allow you to shrink the size of your toolbar horizontally.
If you click this link, you will only see the icons on the
toolbar, and the labels will disappear.
Toolbar Options: This link
provides you a way to really customize your toolbar experience.
You can add features like email notifier (so that you get
notified when you receive new email right on your toolbar),
weather, and all sorts of other customizable features. You
can also use this menu to decide what content is important
to you on the toolbar. If there is a feature that you do
not use, or do not want displayed on your toolbar, simply
uncheck that feature and it will no longer display on your
toolbar. You can absolutely customize your experience here,
so take advantage of this area of the toolbar. Go ahead,
it’s your toolbar. Have fun with it.

Where do you go to search
for things on the internet? Google? Yahoo? Most of our users
told us that they use Google to find the things that they
are looking for everyday, so we built a Google search box
right into our toolbar. Instead of going to www.google.com
and then typing in your search term, simply enter it into
the search box on our toolbar and click Go. You will get
the same exact results as you would have received if you
had gone to www.google.com,
because it is a Google powered search box. Try it for yourself.
Go to www.google.com
and type in concert tickets, then type concert tickets into
our toolbar search engine. You will see the same results.
This is a great feature, and our users absolutely love it.

This section of the toolbar is primarily designed for Marines,
with sites like; mypay.com, marineonline.com, and usmc.mil.
We have built in the sites that Marines use everyday for
things like checking benefits, class schedules, pay statements,
checking out for leave, and the list goes on. We have also
included links to all of the home pages of the major USMC
bases. This is great for Marines, and for their families
to learn about the bases that they live on, or maybe moving
to. We have also included links in this section to the some
of the groups that we donate to; Toys for Tots and Injured
Marine Semper Fi Fund.
DEPLOYMENT SITES >>>
Don’t miss the section of the toolbar! This menu is
built to cater to US Marines, and their families to prepare
for, deal with, and adjust to deployment or military separation.
There are so many helpful links on this menu to things like
countdown clocks, deployment calendars, shipping sites (to
help you package and ship things to your loved ones), calling
cards, etc. One of the most important things that we built
into this section of the toolbar was information about Iraq
like; a site that will allow you to convert your time zone
to Iraq time, Iraq weather, calling cards, and maps. This
is really helpful to help families stay connected during
a deployment, especially for children. One of the areas
of the toolbar that we are most proud of is the bottom of
the menu, with financial and legal help sites for military
families such as; AFES, Red Cross, and WIC. If you can think
of other sites that you would like to see on this section
of the toolbar, please forward them to info@ToolbarforMarines.com.
Thanks for your input.

This section of the toolbar is designed to give you quick
and easy access to the sites that we know that everybody
visits regularly. If you can get into the habit of using
this toolbar to access your favorite sites, you will notice
that you are able to move around the internet very quickly,
and very easily. There are many types of sites on this menu
that you probably already visit daily like social networking
sites, entertainment and travel links, and handy tools.
You really have to look at this menu to appreciate it, but
some of the links on this menu are: youtube.com,
myspace.com,
blackle.com,
netflix.com,
ebay.com, hotwire.com,
and mapquest.com
to name a few. If you have a suggestion about a link that
you access regularly, and would like to see added to this
menu, please send it to info@ToolbarforMarines.com.
Thank you and enjoy!

The Double Drop Down Menu
is kind of like a hidden treasure. A lot of our users accidentally
miss it at first, but then they see it, and fall in love.

Instructions for the Toolbar For Marines |
|
Total Time to Download: Approximately
1 minute
Step 1: Visit http://SupportMarines.OurToolbar.com
and press the grey button on the right hand side of the
page that reads ‘Download Toolbar.’
Step 2: After clicking this button,
a grey box pop up that has several choices will read, “Do
you want to run or Save this software?” Select ‘Run’,
and wait for the download to reach 100%. This will take
30 seconds to 3 minutes, depending on your connection speed.
Step 3: Next, you will see another
box, which will read “Do you want to run this software?”
You will need to select ‘Run.’
Step 4: The next box that
will come up will read ‘License Agreement.’
This is a standard form for all software downloads. You
will want to make sure to leave the box on the left checked
that reads ‘Enable automatic updates.’ This
is important, as leaving this box checked will guarantee
that every time the ToolbarforMarines.com
is updated, that your toolbar will be automatically updated.
This is really important for the shopping links section
of the toolbar so that you are able to take advantage of
the latest discounts and promotions. Then, click Agree.
Step 5: The next box that will appear
reads ‘Additional Settings.’ There are two boxes
available to you on this menu. You will want to leave both
boxes checked so that you are able to use the Google search
box that we built into our toolbar. It is best to leave
these boxes checked, and click ‘Next.’
Step 6: After you click ‘Next’,
you will see that the toolbar will appear at the top of
your browser window. It will look like this:
Step 7: You will automatically
be redirected to a welcome page for the ToolbarforMarines.com,
which is a page that will allow you to connect with other
toolbar users if you want.
Step 8: Enjoy your toolbar!
The toolbar is successfully installed and ready to use,
so go ahead and have a look around. If you have any questions,
please visit us at www.ToolbarforMarines.com
for helpful information and a list of Frequently Asked Questions
about this toolbar.
